Before moving ahead, just want to mention that you can only use the standalone mode on initial setup or first-time setup, or simply reset your Galaxy Watch 4. Once you perform a reset you’re good to go to enable or turn on the standalone mode.

Note: If you want to reset your watch, then you can do it easily from Settings > General > Reset.

  7. Grant the permissions if required, on the terms and conditions as well as on the next page.
  8. Now it will as you to log in with your Samsung account, you can log in if you want or you can tap on the skip button.

  10. Now create a pin for restoring or backing up data.

  1. This article is not correct, there is no stand-alone setup on the Watch 4. Maybe there was in the original firmware but there does not appear to be one anymore. (When I first tried these instructions, there is no question mark on the initial screen.)

    If you go to this Samsung KB and look under “Set up smart watch without a phone” you will see that the Galaxy Watch 4 is excepted.
