How to Turn Off Direction Alerts on Apple Watch
Apple Watch owners can control the app settings easily directly from the watch or also from the iPhone, the same can be done to turn off direction alerts for both the first-party Apple Maps app and third-party Google Maps. Follow these steps for Apple Maps.
For Apple Maps:
Step 1: Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
Step 2: Scroll down and tap Maps to open Apple Maps settings for Apple Watch.
Step 3: Under turn alerts, turn the toggle off for Driving and Driving with CarPlay. You can also turn off the alerts for walking and cycling if you want.
Step 4: That’s it.
Now you will get the turn-by-turn direction alerts on your iPhone. Obviously, you can turn on alerts for your watch whenever you want.
If you prefer using Google Maps for navigation then you can follow below steps to resolve things.
For Google Maps:
Step 1: Open Google Maps on your iPhone.
Step 2: Tap the profile icon at the top right corner and select Settings.
Step 3: Select Navigation and change the Mute state to Muted.
Step 4: Turn the toggle off for Live View.
That’s it. Keep in mind that turning off these settings in Google Maps on iPhone will also mute the direction alerts on the iPhone. These are two different ways to turn off direction alerts for Apple Watch.
