When you receive the watch in your hands, the first thing you’ll want to do is power it on. Booting up the Galaxy Watch 6 is a straightforward process, similar to older Galaxy Watches. Follow these simple steps to turn on the Galaxy Watch 6:
- Press and hold the upper right button on the watch to turn it on.
- Samsung logo will appear on the watch’s screen.
- Just in case the watch is not booting up, simply connect the watch to the charger bundled with the watch.
- Charge the watch and try again to power it on. You need to set up the watch in the first power on.
- That’s it.
You can follow the same steps to turn off the watch, simply press and hold the upper right button for a few seconds then select the power icon on the display to turn off the watch.
How to Connect Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 to Smartphone
Now before start using the watch, you need to connect/pair it with your smartphone. The Galaxy Watch 6 is compatible with Android phones running on Android version 10.0 or later. So, make sure that your Android smartphone is on the newest software available. Here are the prerequisites to set up and pair the Galaxy Watch 6:
- Turn on the Bluetooth app on your Smartphone
- Install the Galaxy Wearable app and Galaxy Watch 6 plugin app on your Android phone.
- Charge your Galaxy Watch 6 (6 Classic) to at least 40-50%
- Connect your phone to an active internet connection with WiFi or Cellular data

Whether you want to turn on/off WiFi, enable DND, quickly open Settings, or turn on Sleep Mode, you can do all by opening Quick Panel with the Swipe Down gesture on your Galaxy Watch 6.
If you want to explore Tiles with different information, then you can use the right swipe gesture. By default, the Galaxy Watch 6 comes with activity tiles, a Body Composition tile, a Sleep monitoring tile, and more. Obviously, you can edit the default combination of tiles.

Note: You can also navigate through tiles, and other items using the rotating bezels or digital bezel. Its extremely handy because if there are so many tiles you don’t have to swipe many times to reach the required tile.

How to Restart Galaxy Watch 6
As mentioned in the opening, the Galaxy Watch 6 series boasts a number of useful features. But just in case your watch got frozen or stuck somewhere, then you can simply restart the watch by following these methods.
- Press and hold both side keys on your Galaxy Watch 6 or 6 Classic.
- Then tap Turn off.
- Now, wait for the watch to turn off.
- Once turned off, wait for a few seconds.
- Press and hold the power button / home button at the top right corner on your Galaxy Watch 6, and release when you the vibrate.

How to Charge Galaxy Watch 6
You might be already aware of the charging process. but just in case here is the process.
As you know the Galaxy Watch 6 comes with a charge which has a magnetic attachment to one end and Type C to the other end.
The Adapter doesn’t come in the watch box, so you need to buy one if you don’t have one. Well if you have Type C USB in a board that will do the job. Also if you have a charger with Type A USB, then you can get Type A male to Type C female connector.
Connect your watch to a magnetic dock and insert the other end to a Type C USB, and your Watch will start charging.
