Boot up your Google Pixel Watch once you received it from the Google Store, when you boot it up for the first time it will be in the pairing mode. All you need to do is, grab the watch and put it closer to your compatible Android smartphone, it will show you a connection popup. Now you need to download and install two apps on your Android smartphones – the Pixel Watch app and Fitbit app. Yes, both apps are freely available on the Play Store. How to Connect Pixel Watch to Android phones
As I said earlier, when you boot up the Pixel Watch for the first time it will be in pairing mode, in case you are already using the Pixel Watch and want to put it back in pairing mode, then all you need to do is, disconnect from the current device or reset it up.
For new users, simply press and hold the Pixel Watch’s rotating crown for a couple of seconds, and it will boot up the watch. Now let’s take a look at the steps on how you can connect it to your Android smartphone.
- Put your watch closer to your smartphone, it will ask you to download the Pixel Watch app if not installed.
- Open the Google Pixel Watch app on your smartphone.
- Now it will show you the pairing code on your watch’s screen, simply enter the code on your smartphone, then hit the confirm button.
- Grant the notifications and location permission when asked.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to link your Google account to your watch, the process is simple, you can simply select the next option.
- Once done, it will start showing you the tutorial on how you can use the watch.
- On the next screen, it will ask you for the watch orientation, you can select the wrist and crown location according to your needs.
- Now it will ask you to install the Fitbit app on your smartphone, then sign in with your Fitbit account and follow the on-screen instructions. Google is giving 6 months of free Fitbit premium subscription with the Pixel Watch.
- Now go back to the Pixel Watch app and set up the Google Assistant and also set a PIN or pattern lock to your watch, tap the next button.
